Elevate:

Growing up Wednesday was a pretty rough day of the week. On Monday and Tuesday you’ve got all those memories from the weekend that just ended. On Thursday and Friday you’re making plans and getting ready for a weekend without classes and homework. But Wednesday, it’s just rough. It’s stuck right in the middle. There’s just not that much to look forward to.
That all changes when you’re coming to Elevate. It’s a unique Bible Study designed just for students in 7th & 8th Grade. We meet every Wednesday night throughout the school year up in the Loft. We open the doors around 6pm and give you a chance to come in, hang out, play some video games, shoot pool, and relax with your friends. Around 6:30 we’ll get class started. We’ll play some large group games where you might get to try your luck at trivia or a silly challenge, we’ve got stupid video clips plucked straight from the ‘net, and an engaging lesson to help every student learn more about how Christianity is lived out in all areas of our lives. Class ends at 8pm.
There is something to look forward to right in the middle of the week and it’s called Elevate and we hope you’ll stop by to find out why this needs to be a part of your weekly routine!
* For students enrolled in Confirmation there will be additional work required and occasionally we will meet for just a few minutes after class to go over those details.

Confirmation:

Confirmation is the process students in grades 7 & 8 go through to become confirmed members of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. Over the course of 2 years of instruction students will learn basic doctrine of the Christian faith, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and Bible lessons from both the Old and New Testament.
Throughout 7th and 8th grade students will work closely with parents through the “Family Based Confirmation Curriculum”. Parents and students will be asked to sit down on average of once a week and work through a 30-minute lesson together. Students and parents will complete a total of 20 lessons over the course of each year studying Lutheran Doctrine and Scriptural lessons.
The Purpose of Family Based Confirmation:
To provide parents with the opportunity to teach, pray, and grow with their student as they become a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church by studying the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism. Did you know that Martin Luther’s original intention for the Small Catechism was for it to be taught by parents to their children? The Family Based Confirmation program helps make Luther’s intent a reality while parents embark on this spiritual journey with their kids.
The Benefits of Family Based Confirmation:
One of the most exciting aspects of the Family Based Confirmation program is that it actively involves parents in the spiritual lives of their children. Parents have the opportunity to learn alongside their child, answer questions about spiritual topics, and help develop spiritual habits in their children. Because of the “at home” aspect of this program it actually provides students with the opportunity to learn more about Lutheran doctrine and the Scriptures.
