Our Style
Cross of Christ blends both the
traditional and the modern in its worship services. Our services
last around an hour and a half, with a combination of music,
Bible readings, a message from one of our pastors, prayers, and
an offer of communion.
You can expect to see people of all ages wearing everything from
summer shorts to business casual to suits and ties to Indian
saris. There is no need to feel nervous about what to wear at
our church. People who visit us tell us that they sense a real
joy in the people they encounter here.
We sing centuries-old hymns accompanied by our accomplished
organist, and we sing more lively praise songs, accompanied by
our Praise Team of vocalists, guitar, keyboards, and drums. We
encourage people to sing along, watch the screens for words and
videos, and even to bring their own style into the worship
times. Many times, our talented musicians will provide special
music, and sometimes we’ll invite other groups to sing during
our services.
The messages on Sunday morning are relevant to life today. You
won’t walk away from our church service trying to make sense of
what the pastor said. You won’t walk away wondering if God
really loves you. You will feel challenged. We will show you how
teachings in the Bible will lead you to a deeper understanding
and relationship with God.
Try us out. See what God has to offer at the corner of Lone Pine
and Telegraph. Oh, and stay for a bit after the early service,
or come early to the middle or late services and enjoy a cup of
coffee and a bagel or a donut on us!
