Pastor Jon W. Reusch
Senior Pastor
Serving as Senior Pastor at Cross
of Christ, Pastor Jon Reusch’s role centers on vision casting
and on encouraging others to discover a fulfilling place of
service. He says, “I think God is indescribable, wonderful and
gracious. I thank Jesus for LIFE. And I think Cross of Christ
Lutheran Church is truly a joyful and loving family.” Pastor Reusch grew up in Maywood, Illinois, a western suburb of
Chicago. After attending numerous colleges, he graduated from
Concordia Teachers College, in River Forest, Illinois, then
served as a teaching principal in Missouri and California,
before returning to school again himself. He was ordained at
Concordia Seminary in 1981. His favorite pastime is GOLF…and
gardening (“because you can't always golf”). He is married to
Betty, and together they have five children and four “even more
wonderful” grandsons.

Sheila Buller
Church Manager
A snowbird in reverse, Sheila
Buller grew up in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. She held jobs in
the insurance administration field in Michigan for 21 years
before becoming Cross of Christ’s Church Administrator. She
serves the Pastors and various ministries by “gathering and
providing information to help us fulfill God’s plan in
ministering to others and helping them grow.” Sheila and her
husband, Bernie, are active in their home church and enjoy
swimming, biking, kayaking, and road trips. She especially
thanks Jesus for “choosing ME!” and for her friends and her
family, which also includes two children, four step-children,
four step-grandchildren, and a new Goldendoodle.

Church Secretary
A former
teacher with an undergraduate degree from Concordia Teachers
College and a master’s degree from Wayne State University, Betty
Reusch now works in the office of Cross of Christ, doing
bulletins and service outlines. In addition, she directs the
children's choir, leads the SonLight City and Vacation Bible
School music teams, serves as a Stephen Ministry Leader, and is
active in planning the annual Women's Retreat. She says, “I’m
not only a planner and organizer, but an active participant and
encourager of others to join and share the joy of ministry!” Her
hobbies include counted cross-stitch (“when I can stay
awake”),shopping at Costco, golf, and her four “wonderful”
grandsons. Her family also includes her husband, Pastor Jon
(just Jon, to her!), her five children and her “wonderful family
of believers at Cross of Christ who support and encourage one
another in their daily journey through life towards Heaven.”
Betty Reusch
Director of Worship
This one-time brick laborer, graphic artist, sales manager, draftsman, shop foreman, choir director and Nashville songwriter, brings his considerable talents to the front of the church every week as the Worship Director at Cross of Christ. He still works hard at his day job as one of the Managers of Angela Hospice in Livonia, but thoroughly enjoys working with and encouraging volunteers and staff to “enthusiastically craft worship services which are genuinely Jesus-focused, emotionally engaging, pertinent to life in this day and age, artistically excellent, and take-home meaningful.” That being said, he figures Cross of Christ is “no substitute for broccoli or green leafy vegetables since you still need other stuff - but not much.” When he is not breathing, eating, sleeping, recording, writing, orchestrating or playing music, he likes to read and watch “only the best stuff” on television with the lovely Debbie Alexander, his high-school sweetheart and wife.

Beth Kalusniak
Director of
SonLight City
Beth joined the staff in the fall of 2006 as the part-time leader of the church’s Sunday school. “My plan is to take a great program and make it even better,” she said. “I would like all of the surrounding communities to know about our wonderful facility, our dedicated volunteers, our inspiring curriculum, and -- most importantly -- how much we love kids…just like Jesus loves them.” She has degrees in Communications (handy for parent newsletters) and Political Science (helps in negotiating toy sharing) from Hope College and an MBA (good for stretching the budget) from Oakland University. She previously worked as a manager for a benefits consulting division of MetLife. She has been a Sunday School and/or a Vacation Bible School volunteer for the past five years and a mom (the best training by far) for almost nine. Beth also serves as Church Council Secretary and leads a moms’ small group. When she’s not at church or on the computer, she enjoys reading, listening to NPR, and organizing things. She and her husband, John, have three daughters
and one son.

Church Secretary
Nancy Wilkie knows you…or soon
will.  As the Director of Assimilation (volunteer recruiter and
chief record keeper) Nancy does her best to keep track of where
everyone lives, how to contact them, and how they serve. Her
main goal is to help new and current members of Cross of Christ
“find a place of service where their gifts are properly
utilized.” She herself serves with the Praise Team, the
Christmas Choir, and the Troubadours of Joy song ministries and
claims it is impossible to choose just one favorite Christian
song. She thanks Jesus for her “many blessings, constant
guidance and assurance of a home in Heaven.” She lives not too
far from her hometown of West Bloomfield with her husband, and
her teenaged son and daughter, doing gardening, reading,
shopping, and boating.

Worship Technology Leader
If the audio
is operational, the video is streaming, and the lights are on,
thank our Worship Technology Leader Jeff Marchione.
Jeff spends Sunday mornings making sure that the
technical portions of the Sunday services are pleasing to God
and the people in the pews. He also serves
as a church Elder, relying on his favorite verses relating to
the saving grace of God in Ephesians 2:8,9.
Jeff is husband to Christina, father to four children, and fan
of all things maize and blue.
