The show was started by the women of the church when they were trying to find a way to buy new choir robes. When the idea of an Antique Show came up, they started a tradition that has continued for 48 years. Throughout its history, the show has raised over $420,000 for charity. Now the show attracts over 1,000 attendees over the 2 days and has the participation of over 150 church volunteers. With 33 dealers and a large array of unusual antiques, decorative items, and one-of-a-kind collectibles, the show is one of the longest-running and most sought-after boutique antique shows in the metroDetroitarea.
The hugely popular Taste of Excellence will feature 5 different high quality restaurants providing some of their most popular dishes. This year’s restaurants include: Mezza Mediterranean Grill, El Nibble Nook, Fishbones, Panera Bread, and Breadsmith. This event will run Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm and has a modest cost of $7 with a paid show admission ticket.
Every cent of profit from the Friday and Saturday show will be given to charities. This year’s recipients include: Grace Centers of Hope, Lutheran City Ministries, St. Paul International Lutheran Church, The Future is Now, and Lutheran Seminary Students.
