Cross of Christ Lutheran Church presents its annual Bloomfield Antique & Collectibles Show for the 52nd time in 2015 on October 9 from 10AM-6PM and October 10 from 10AM to 4PM.  The event features treasures from more than 30 well-respected dealers, as well as the hugely popular Saturday morning appraisals by DuMouchelles and Saturday afternoon Taste of Excellence food fair.  The festivities include something for everyone! “People come from all over Oakland County to shop at this show because it offers such fantastic antiques and collectibles all in one convenient place,” says Don Berkemeier of Bloomfield Hills, a show volunteer.  “The thrill of hunting for old-world treasures and of searching for unique items makes this show a great event for both casual and serious collectors.”

With so many dealers and a large array of unusual antiques, decorative items, and one-of-a-kind collectibles, the show is one of the longest-running and most sought-after boutique antique shows in the metro Detroit area. Exhibitors from all over the Midwest will feature a large selection of merchandise, including decorative accessories and collectibles, furniture, lighting, architectural ceramics, pottery, glass, silver, rugs, linens, books, fine art, sculptures, toys, china, silver, glassware, jewelry, and much more. The show attracts up to 1,000 attendees over the 2 days and is supported by 150 church volunteers.

 

DUMOUCHELLESRENOWNED DUMOUCHELLES AUCTION HOUSE CONDUCTS APPRAISALS

The show also features on-site appraisals by Ms. Joan Walker of the world-renowned DuMouchelles Gallery of Detroit on Saturday, October 10th, from 10AM. to 1PM   Cost for the verbal appraisals is $10 per item with a limit of three items.

 

 

antique home cookingFOOD CHOICES ABOUND…HOME COOKING, HOMEMADE GOODS, AND RESTAURANT FARE AT SATURDAY TASTE OF EXCELLENCE

A Country Cafe with home cooking is open for lunch both Friday and Saturday. The church volunteers take pride in putting together traditional favorites like egg salad sandwiches and homemade vegetable soup. Plus, there are homemade baked goods, jellies, and crafts at our Country Store. In addition, the hugely popular Taste of Excellence on Saturday, October 10th,  from 11AM to 2PM ($7 for adults and $3.50 for children with a paid show admission ticket of $8) will feature different high quality restaurants providing some of their most popular dishes.  Restaurants have included Mezza Mediterranean Grill,  El Nibble Nook, P.F. Changs, Panera Bread, Fishbones, Bahama Breeze, and Macaroni Grille.

The show is held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, located at 1100 Lone Pine Rd (at Telegraph) in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 48302. The church parking lot is the first driveway west of Telegraph on the north side of Lone Pine. The show is held in our huge, three-court gym at the north end of the building and there is plenty of parking on-site.

 

 

event-ticketsTICKETS ARE REASONABLE FOR ALL-DAY TREASURE HUNTING

Admission to the show is $8 per person at the door with children under 12 free. Following admission, patrons can purchase separate tickets for Saturday’s DuMouchelles’ Appraisals at $10 per item (up to 3 items) as well as tickets for the Saturday Taste of Excellence for $7.50 per adult and $3.50 per child. Show hours are Friday from 10AM to 6PM and Saturday from 10AM to 4PM.

 

 

charity jar cropFUNDS RAISED GO TO CHARITY

Every cent of profit from the Friday and Saturday show will be given to charities. The show was started by the women of the church as a way to buy new choir robes.  Throughout its history, the show has raised more than $450,000 for charity. This year’s recipients include Angela Hospice, Project Compassion, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pontiac, and various Lutheran Seminary Students.
