Donation Day of Thanks

This years event will take place on November 21, 2020

Collecting donations of household goods for as Area Thrift Store from 8 AM to 2 PM at the Chapel/Lobby Entrance

Recipient of items is Oakland HOPE Thrift Shop, which financially supports the Oakland HOPE Food Pantry

WE WILL Also hosting service project from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Volunteers are needed to help pre-sort items that are taken in.

Volunteers will be asked to complete a health survey, have their temperature take, wear maks, practice social distancing, etc (hand-wasing, hand sanitizer, disposable gloves)

Volunteers will be served a boxed lunch, drinks and snacks. 

Items needed at this time

furniture, linens, jewelry, purses, coats/boots.snow pants, sporting goods, and housewares (no plastics).
Furniture must be clean (not worn, stained, ripped or dirty)
Housewares, appliances and electronics must be clean and working.
Toys and Sporting Goods–only working items and no missing pieces

CLOTHING IS NOT NEEDED AT THIS TIME.

Items that cannot be accepted:  Books, Desks, Cribs, Pianos, organs, OLD TVs, Mattresses, Entertainment Centers, Particle Board Furniture, Old Computers.

2019 DDOT  November 23, 2019  Oakland HOPE was the Thrift Store recipient, Service Project was making Greeting Cards for Veterans

 2018 DDOT November 17, 2018  Oakland HOPE was the Thrift Store recipient, Service Project was decorating and filling Duffel Bags for foster kids with WellSpring Lutheran Services

 2017 DDOT November 4, 2017  Disabled American Veterans (DAV) was the Thrift Store Recipient, Service Project was food packaging for Kids Coalition Against Hunger ( KCAH)

 2015 DDOT  Grace Centers of HOPE was the Thrift Store recipient, Service Project was putting gift wrap on shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse and canned goods collection for Light House of Pontiac Pantry
