Haiti 2015 Wednesday…Joyful Children at the Orphanage

Today was nothing as I expected. I cannot even put into words the joy I felt interacting with the children all through the day. I was SOOO close to living up to my baby-snatcher persona.
Our day started off at the orphanage for sick children. Going last year was the hardest part of the trip and I was very anxious to return. Surprisingly going there this time was a complete 180. The little girl I spent the full two hours with was the most joyful child I have met in a long time. She smiled and laughed and we sang Shakira songs together. I taught her and a few of the other kids the baby shark song and my heart melted.
Then we got back and prepped for the pool party. Boy was that a BLAST. The children were so eager to jump into the pool and have fun with us. I got to spend a bunch of time with a boy and girl playing the cup song. After all the festivities were done I got to go with the children back to their home. Sitting in a bus with a sleeping boy on your lap and surrounded by 40 something sleeping children is something I recommend to everyone. To see them all content and sleepy from our fun filled day was all I could ask for. (That and being able to sprawl across a row and take a nap once they left the bus 😉 )
I am so grateful that I got to come down and experience this wonderful country once again.
With so much love,
