Let’s face it, we’re not perfect. I’m sure we’d like to think we are, but the truth is that we all know we’re not. In some way we’ve disobeyed God, which we in the church world call sin. That sin affects us and the world in a very negative way.
“God is God and we are not.” It’s a pretty fun quote that could be used to sum up one of the key traits about church. We don’t pretend to know every single thing about God or how He works. Because, well, “God is God and we are not.” What we do know about God we find in His love letter to us, the Bible. It’s a collection of writings that show us God’s story and how it still intersects and impacts our lives today. In the Bible we do learn that God is loving, forgiving, and perfect. He choose to do for us what we couldn’t do for ourselves: save us from the blackness of death so we could spend eternity with Him. To do that He sent His only son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins and rise again 3 days later, securing for anyone who believes a seat in paradise (Heaven, not that place up north). Jesus Christ is the way for everyone who believes to receive the gift of life that lasts forever.
So what do we believe? That we’re part of God’s plan to go out into the world reaching others with our story and by serving others. We’re just ordinary people trying to connect people with the love of a savior who will never leave them. God invites us, and you, to join Him on this journey to grow in our faith and reach out to those in need.
